You will see an exclamation mark in red next to the KMD logo and a message in a red rectangle saying "unable to establish RPC connection"
There are a number of reasons and possible solutions for this error.
First, make sure you have a compatible OS that supports Agama, we have tested Windows 7 and its next versions and they work perfectly fine. For Mac users the recommended OS is 10.12 and above in order to run the software without this issue. Agama will only run the native mode of the wallet on 64 bit systems.
If you are still facing these issues you can be experimenting the need of resyncing from scratch but also if the download you made was for some reason not fully saved in your PC, you can have a corrupted download and you will need to download it again.
Here is the guide to resync from scratch:
Additionally, you can also erase the peers.dat file that you will see in the guide above and proceed with the rest of the guide as shown in the link above.
Finally, in order to avoid this type of issue try to verify that you have the newest version of the wallet monthly if you can, by going to www.komodoplatform.com
Antivirus or firewall blocking Komodod
Some users have also reported that their Antivirus or Firewall has disabled the process Komodo from running . If you are using a Windows PC you will need to view if the process is being activated by looking into the task manager , in Mac it will be with the activity manager and in Linux with System manager. Here is an example for MAC OS X.
Make sure that your Antivirus software is not blocking and enable Agama and the Komodod process to be able to run the daemon. Depending on your antivirus software the procedure can differ but most of the antivirus software will give you the option in a pop up or you will have to select it manually in the preferences of the software.
If you see the process Komodod not being blocked and running as showed in the image above then most likely you will need to do a resync of the wallet from scratch as in the previous guide.
